House Team for Tonight’s Freeroll

House Team for Tonight’s Freeroll

If you haven’t been around the site this week or if you’ve been avoiding any site that discusses the Blues due to their frustrating start, time is running out. Tonight at 6:00pm Central, the Frozen Notes Freeroll on Draft Street will get underway. Want to see what you’re up against?

Cash prize aside, this is a great opportunity to compete against other readers on the site. If you haven’t signed up, what are you waiting for? It’s free, it only takes a few minutes, and you can win cash prizes. Here’s the link to get started. Create an account. When the popup comes up asking if you want to join the Frozen Notes Freeroll, say yes. Choose a squad of players that fits under the cap based on who you think will perform well in their games tonight.

Just to get the smack talk ball rolling, below is the squad of misfits I have selected to be on the Frozen Notes house team. Mostly, I selected guys that I haven’t had the joy of owning in a regular fantasy hockey league or guys that I just wanted to goof around with.

Goalie: Jonathan Quick – After Quick brushed aside every St. Louis effort this week, it’s time Quick does something positive for me.

LW: James Neal – Few guys have started off as well as Neal has. Hopefully that continues tonight.
LW: Ryan Smyth – A more affordable option, Smyth will hopefully continue to excel surrounded by a cast of young talent.

RW: P.A. Parenteau – His name is awesome, his start to 2011-12 is awesome. What’s not to love?
RW:  Milan Hejduk – Veteran experience to go along with my young talent.

C: Dave Bolland – Yes, I have a Blackhawk. I’ll boo myself.
C:  John Tavares – Another hat trick in store? Probably not, but he’s a fun player to follow.

D: Kevin Klein – He’s cheap, he blocks shots. That’s really the only reason I picked him.
D:  Victor Hedman – Cheap, nice upside.

Flex: Zenon Konopka – I told you I was having fun. Konopka will only be worthwhile if he earns himself 20+ penalty minutes … which, judging by his past few seasons isn’t that far-fetched.

So there you have it – the house team. A puzzling mix of young and a bit of old, with probably far too many role players.

If you’ve signed up, what does your squad look like? Will it best the odd group of guys above?

If you haven’t joined the fun the clock is ticking. Join us right away!
