The game started out slowly bogged down in the middle. It picked up QPR whipped in a cross and headed in the goal by Clint Hill (as Seen Below). The ball into the net clearly across the line and ping ponged off the goalies arm. It was a goal none the less but the ref never called it a goal. The ref claimed he “did not see it”. The question is why didn’t he? The side line ref is paid to watch the game how could not see it?
Bolton scored off a team Pratley header supplied by USMNT member Tim Ream cross. The Hoops responded with a goal of their own when Cisse scored from an offside position. The hoops held possession but could not break Bolton’s defense. Then 5 minutes from time Ivan Klasnic netted the winner for Bolton. It is easy to say this game should have ended in a tie.
This was a crucial game for Rangers for they have one of the toughest schedules in the remaining 10 games. They play Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs at home and have to go to Chelsea, Manchester United, and Man city.
If a team gets relegated in lower division they not only play lesser opponents but the loss of TV deals, contracts equal to 75 Million dollars. Also teams with decent players normally leave that team in search of greener pastures.
This has gone on long enough it has never been more evident than now that goal line technology is needed. A team could be relegated and lose 75 Million Euros. Championships could be won a loss (See AC Milan v Juventus). It is time for leagues to move on their own and adopt goal line technology. It is upsetting to think that there is an easy solution to fix a problem that is plaguing the game and sheer ignorance keeps it from getting approved. Goal Line technology is similar technology that is used in various sports such as American Football, Baseball, swimming, cricket horse racing and other sports.
