On Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers took the floor against the Miami Heat, expecting a loss. The 76ers, against all odds, ended up winning this game by a score of 114-110.
This game started with the Miami Heat winning the tip-off. The first scoring of the game came on a Michael Carter-Williams dunk, the first points of his NBA career. Later in the quarter, Evan Turner dunked on LeBron James, and the 76ers were up 6-0. The Sixers ended up going on a 19-0 run to start the game. The Heat did end up going on a little run, but the quarter ended with them down 33-14.
The second quarter was all Miami. They outscored the 76ers 35-18, and brought themselves within two points at the half.
Miami dominated the third quarter as well, as they outscored the Sixers by eleven. The third quarter ended with Ray Allen making a ridiculous halfcourt shot, and the Heat took the lead by nine points entering the final quarter.
With clutch performances by Michael Carter-Williams, Thaddeus Young, Spencer Hawes, James Anderson and Evan Turner, the 76ers outscored the Heat by 13 points in the fourth quarter, and ended up winning the game by a score of 114-110.
The worst team in the NBA beat the best team in the NBA, that’s something you don’t see too often. This was also a NBA debut to remember for Michael Carter-Williams, as he scored 22 points, collected 7 rebounds, had 12 assists and 9 steals. That is amazing. That’s the best NBA debut I have ever seen.
For one day, we can all forget the winless for Wiggins talk, and enjoy the fact that the Philadelphia 76ers have beaten the Miami Heat!
