The schedule for the 2010-11 preseason and regular season was released today. Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals come to town December 1st. What other matchups should you look forward to?

It could have been a lot worse. The Blues start the year with eight preseason games, two each against the Blackhawks, Wild, Stars and Avalanche.

The regular season kicks off against … Philadelphia? We weren’t expecting the Flyers to be the team’s first opponent at home (Oct. 9th), but at least the team will get a test against a tough playoff team right off the bat.

The Blues have 16 sets of back-to-back games, which isn’t too terrible of a number compared to Buffalo and their whopping 22 sets. The Blues will also enjoy the fact their longest road trip is just four games long.

Washington comes to town December 1st while the Blues head to the capital on March 3rd.

Pittsburgh makes their way to St. Louis October 23rd – there will be no shortage of tough games this year for the Blues, but it will be fun seeing some of the top clubs in the Eastern Conference.

The year concludes with Nashville skating in St. Louis on April 9th.

Let the countdown begin and get your tickets now! Hockey isn’t far off.
