The Calm Before the Storm

Brace yourself. Take a deep breath. The calm before the storm is about to end.

The NHL draft is June 26th/27th and with it is sure to be a fire storm of trades and transactions with some very big names. The Heatley saga will likely reach a conclusion before June is over, and all the crazy rumors that have floated around will finally be put to bed. Chris Pronger, Jay Bouwmeester, The Sedin Twins, Nik Antropoz, and many others all might be on a new team over the next few weeks.

A flurry of activity is about to embark as teams try to either free up salary or find the missing link for their club.

Rumor has it that Blues fans can expect some noteworthy news as early as today in regards to a deal the Note are trying to finalize. I think this most likely could be the news Pronger is coming back to St. Louis rather than Heatley coming.

This is an exciting time around the NHL, so stay tuned as we find out who ends up where and who will be in a Blues jersey for 2009-10.
