Blues Ready Their Picks
The 2010 installment of the NHL Draft is set to kick off on Friday, and the Blues are preparing their picks. The club will select 14th in the first round, 44th in the second round, 74th in the third round, 104th in the fourth round, 134th in the fifth round and 164th in the sixth round.
Prior to last week, I would have pushed for the Blues to look for an answer in net from the draft, but the Halak deal changed that notion in a hurry.
I won’t attempt to predict what the Blues will do in this year’s draft, as a lot could change in front of the team in picks one through 13 that makes the club call an audible. The team has done well stocking up talent at the blueline, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them wait on defenders this go round.
Obviously the Blues need help up front and need to find a dynamic offensive talent now that the best offensive prospect Lars Eller has been dealt to Montreal.
Once the draft is completed, expect a full breakdown of the team’s picks right here at FrozenNotes.
