8/10 Game Recap: Red Sox 3 – Indians 2

Rehab Update:  Roberto Hernandez started for Columbus tonight. Former Fausto pitched 7 innings and allowed just 1 run on 4 hits. Rafael Perez is scheduled to to make a rehab appearance tomorrow for Columbus.

Player of the Game

Asdrubal Cabrera provided the only 2 Indians hits through the first 8 innings: a solo home run and a double. His score of 3.83 gives him a total of 7 Player of the Game awards this season. This was his first one since June 28th.

Feathers Up

Chris Seddon pitched a strong game, with just 2 costly mistakes. The first run scored by the Sox was unearned, but the unearned run was charged to Seddon after a 2-base error on a pick off attempt allowed a runner to advance to 3rd base. The second mistake was a home run to deep center field to Cody Ross. Seddon pitched 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits.

The Indians took advantage of 2 errors committed by Boston on one play, which started Jason Donald on 3rd base on what should have been an easy out. Donald would score when the next batter, Ezequiel Carrera, hit a sac fly.
