Roster Update: After a few days of evaluation, the Indians placed catcher, Yan Gomes, on the 7-Day concussion DL. To fill the catcher void, the Indians acquired former Tribesman, Chris Gimenez, from the Texas Rangers for future considerations. Gimenez is expected to join the team tomorrow.

Player of the Game
Danny Salazar pitched his  second consecutive solid outing since rejoining the team on August 17th. Salazar gave up just one earned run in 6 innings of work, striking out 7 Houston batters. Salazar allowed just 3 hits, all of which were singles. Similar to Carrasco last night, Salazar left a tied game, so he got no decision.

Feathers Up
The bullpen was nearly perfect tonight. Salazar exited after 6 and the bullpen picked up right where he left off. Scott Atchison pitched the 7th, Bryan Shaw pitched the 8th, and Cody Allen pitched the 9th. They combined for one walk and 3 strikeouts, allowing no hits.

Another walk-off win in Cleveland. Tyler Holt led off the 9th inning with a single and would come around to score the game-winner on a single by Jose Ramirez.

Feathers Down
Milestone Alert: The Indians committed their 100th error of the season in the 2nd inning when Chris Dickerson threw wildly to home plate as Houston scored their first run of the night. A second run scored, which could be credited to Dickerson’s wild throw, but could also be directly linked to the fact that Danny Salazar remained on the pitcher’s mound instead of backing up the play.

With a 2-2 game in the 8th inning, the Indians failed to take advantage of an error by the Astros. Jason Kipnis reached on a throwing error, allowing Carlos Santana to go to third with just one out. After Kipnis stole second, Zach Walters grounded to the shortstop, who threw Santana out at the plate. With Kipnis on third, Walters stole second, again putting two runners in scoring position. Pinch hitter, Mike Aviles, then stuck out, and the Indians were unable to profit from the Houston mistake.

Final Score: Cleveland Indians 3 – Houston Astros 2

On Deck: Trevor Bauer and Brett Oberholtzer face off in the series finale Sunday at 1:05 pm.
