GAME NOTES: The Red Sox rode a strong offensive performance and solid bullpen work to victory in this afternoon’s game. Curt Schilling takes the mound in the nightcap against John Danks, who has reached 100 pitches in only two of his last ten starts. Kevin Youkilis and Dustin Pedroia, who did not start this afternoon’s game, are due to start tonight. Kevin Cash will also take Jason Varitek’s place behind the plate; it will be the first time that Cash has caught Curt Schilling.
