Draft and Trade News

Well, the Pronger speculation is over. The Philadelphia Flyers landed the defender by paying a hefty price by shipping Joffrey Lupul, Luca Sbisa and this season’s 21st overall pick and Philadelphia’s first-round pick in the 2010 draft. Anaheim will also receive a conditional third-round pick in one of the next two drafts. In my mind, they paid WAY too much for Pronger, and I am glad that the Blues did not make a deal for Pronger if thats how much he was going to cost. Two players and three high picks is an enormous price for one player, let alone one that is 34-years old. Pronger is a pivotal player, but I think the Flyers got a little carried away and the Ducks came away with a lot in return.

Once the draft concludes and the trades die down, I will do a full break down on what moves the Blues made and how things might shape up next season.
