9-0h Happy Monday for Brewers’ fans

What a better way to start off a dreary week than a 9-0 pounding of the D-backs and former Brewer Doug Davis. A 3-run first inning, followed by a 3-run second inning, not only chased Davis to the showers after 2 innings, but gave rookie Yovani Gallardo the cushion to go after Arizona batters. Gallardo only gave up 5 hits, while fanning 6 in 6 IP; Carlos Villanueva finished off the D-backs over the last 3 IP…and was subsequently sent to AAA Nashville to get more work in as a starter. Former Brewer Jeff Cirillo even took the mound to pitch the 9th for Arizona. With the Cubs’ loss, the Crew re-claims a tie for first.
