9/8 Recap: Angels Take Quick Sweep in Cleveland

Player of the Game
Providing nearly all of the Indians offense, Lonnie Chisenhall took today’s honors. Chisenhall accounted for all 3 Tribe runs with a 2-run home run in the 5th inning and an RBI single in the 6th.

Feathers Up
Even though the Tribe pitching staff gave up 12 runs, at least all of those runs were earned. The Indians defense was solid in their error-less outing today. On top of flawless “D,” Michael Bourn had an assist from center field. Jose Ramirez also continues to flash the leather since the trade of Asdrubal Cabrera.

Feathers Down
The pitching staff was far from stellar today. Danny Salazar started the Angels hitting parade by allowing 6 earned runs in just 4.2 innings. His relief, Zach McAllister, gave up 2 more runs in 2 innings. Nick Hagadone and Bryan Price both pitched in the 9 inning, combining to give up 4 more runs. Tribe pitching combined to give up 12 earned runs on 16 hits, 4 of which were home runs.

Final Score: Cleveland Indians 3 – Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 12

On Deck: Trevor Bauer hopes to get the Tribe back on track as he faces off against Trevor May and the Minnesota Twins Tuesday night at Progressive Field.
