All roads lead to Brooklyn is the mantra for the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship, which kicks off this week at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Five days of highly competitive basketball will take place from March 11th to 15th, as the conference’s 14 teams battle it out in Brooklyn for a guaranteed spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The No. 1 seed in the tournament is Davidson, who won the regular season Atlantic 10 championship, finishing one game ahead of the Dayton Flyers. Davidson (14-4, 23-6) ranks fourth in points per game in the entire nation (80.6) and are third in assists per game (17.4). The Wildcats are likely on the right side of the bubble if they have an early exit in the conference tournament, but we’ve seen more surprising results in the past when it comes to the selection committee.
Other notables are the two through four seeds, Dayton, Rhode Island and Richmond. Richmond is currently on ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi’s “Next Four Out” list. VCU is the fifth seed in the tournament and are on the outside looking in for this year’s NCAA Tournament. After being ranked nationally with a promising start to the season, major injuries have slowed down the Rams, who now have to win the conference tournament to make it back to the big dance.
According to TiqIQ.com, the tickets with the highest average ticket price are for the March 14th date, where the two semi-final games will be played. The average ticket price is $299.38 with a walk-in price of $45. The lowest average ticket price is $140.34 with a walk-in price of $12 on March 11th, which is the first round of the tournament. The 12th seeded Fordham matches up against 13th seeded George Mason at 6:30 p.m. and at 9:00 p.m., 11th seeded Duquesne faces 14th seeded Saint Louis.

The Atlantic 10 is looking at a maximum of three teams making the NCAA Tournament but can be cut down to two if Davidson takes down the conference championship. Their recent success of A10 teams in the NCAA Tournament gives fans of the conference a reason to want the most teams in as possible.
