A Challenger Appears: Kyle Rudolph’s Ice Auger Celebration Has Potential

I think we’re all in agreement that Minnesota Vikings tight end, Kyle Rudolph, has been disgustingly underused, correct? Despite having nine touchdown receptions during the season last year, it’s clear that he could be a much larger component of the passing game, especially after watching him earn MVP honors in the 2013 Pro Bowl. Instead, with the Vikings, he’s been stuck waiting for our noodle armed QB to throw him a Duck Tales pass that cuts down on his yardage amounts, and suffocates his effectiveness. DAMN EVERYTHING!

Well, none of that may matter, because as long as Rudolph keeps scoring touchdowns, the greater the chances that we get to see his new touchdown celebration, the Ice Auger. Video after the jump:

Kyle Rudolph is with several other Vikings players this week doing a weird promotional tour in London and Ireland in preparation for their “home game” in London next season. During this tour, Rudolph apparently felt the need to break out his potential new TD celebration, the Ice Auger, to the masses.

As you now know from watching the video, the Ice Auger involves a little lawn mower type pull move, and then an ass dropping motion, before you throw the ball up LIKE WHAT, and stop caring about the opposing team. It looks ridiculous, especially for a big man, and is fairly stupid, which means that it just crosses that brilliant threshold where it might work. In conclusion, I can’t wait to see it next year!

We’ll look forward to adding it to the repertoire of Vikings player celebration moves, but until we see it in action, there’s obviously no way that we can say it’s better than Christian Ponder’s “Gun Fingaz.”

I mean, come on. Gold, Jerry.
