A friendly end of season reminder

With the season winding down, I always feel like it’s necessary to throw a quick post up to remind everyone that just because the season ends doesn’t mean WHYGAVS goes into a six-month hibernation. In a lot of ways, it’s easier to write once the season ends, because things aren’t constantly changing and because nights are occupied by baseball-watching. In the immediate future, I’ve got season reviews to post, looks ahead into what’s probably one of the more important off-seasons in recent Pirate history, and prospect lists to promise to update before they fall by the wayside. In the longer-term, I want to get back to in-depth looks at the pitching staff, especially James McDonald and Charlie Morton, and at various points I’ll probably get bored and write things about the history of the team or weird pieces laced with obscure comic book and/or literary references. I’ll probably be headed back to Bradenton in March, which doesn’t seem that far away except that it’s as far from here as Bradenton last March was, and that seems like no time at all. And of course, there will be plenty of hot stove rumors to tear into and transactions to analyze.

Which is simply to say that I hope you’ll keep coming back this winter, because I’ll be here the whole time. Same blog time, same blog channel.
