A game of Shoulda, Coulda, and What Ifs- With some Grimm news

Cody Grimm at last report broke his ankle. No word yet on how long he will miss. The miss part is obvious, if you watched the last 3 minutes of the game. The Bucs recent success against the run is no longer a mystery, It would Appear Grimm was a major part in that. Now the Bucs are going to have to temporarily go back to their getting gashed ways until Grimm returns. The Ravens meanwhile had a few injuries of their own, and made the best of big plays. They maintained a high level of pressure on Josh Freeman that caused the QB to have his worst game of the year. In the end, the Bucs went to the hurry up offense around the 7:00 mark of the 4th quarter, and almost scored their TD at the 6 minute mark but Michael Spurlock drops a sure TD pass in the end zone. The Bucs would end up scoring, but not until the 3 minute mark. The Special Teams choose to kick deep instead of onside, which was the wrong call in hindsight because Tampa Bay’s offense would not see the field again.

Gerald McCoy got two sacks, his first multiple sack game, and Cody Grimm was playing lights out as was fellow safety Sean Jones and CB Aqib Talib. The Bucs are now 7-4 and with the events of the day move into a tie for a playoff spot if they were held today. Before todays games the Bucs would have been left out. Division Leaders- Philadelphia 7-4 Atlanta 9-2 Chicago 7-4 Wild Card Contenders (Two spots) New Orleans 8-3 Tampa Bay 7-4 (5-2 Conference)/ NY Giants 7-4 (5-2 Conference) NFC West teams not listed as records are very low, and Bucs hold tiebreakers over Cardinals/Rams/49ers. With Games against Detroit, Washington, and Seattle, Conference wins could come in big down the road.
