A heart floats in the bay From sour home Chicago I hear it beating far away There’s no telling what I’ll do If I don’t return to you.

Wednesday’s game against Chicago was the kind of effort I expect from the Coyotes every game. They used their skills and their physical strength. They played *almost* a full 60 minutes and stayed out of the penalty box, for the most part.

We still haven’t gotten much out of Whitney. At this point I don’t expect too much. He has had some great breakaway chances this year but he always pulls the trigger too soon. He had the perfect opportunity last night but he got to about the middle of the circle and just decided to stop and do a slap shot.  He was ahead of the Chicago players, so I am really not sure why he thought it was a good idea to stop and shoot then. He could have totally gotten up in the goalies business and had a better chance.

LaBarbera had a great game which gave Bryz a much needed rest. Hopefully this boosts both goalies confidence. Bryz, although working his ass off, was looking a little shaky out there. It had seemed his confidence might have taken a ding or two lately. It will be interesting to see who plays this weekend. We have back to back games. Friday against the Flames and Saturday against the red hot Blues. Both home games.

It’s great to see Wolski playing up to his potential again. The kid has skills, I want to see him use them more. His moves that lead to the Turris goal were pretty awesome. Then twenty seconds later Belanger scores. Let’s keep doing things like that. You know… scoring.

Other positives: We stayed out of the penalty box for the most part. See what happens when you aren’t playing a man down the entire game? You score goals and you win. Lets work on that, k? k.

Some negatives: Apparently OEL has been injured. The Coyotes have recalled Stafford. I read on twitter they wanted a more “veteran presence” on the ice. I don’t know this Stafford and I do not recall anything about him. This could go either way.

In other news: Dale Jr will be debuting his new Diet Dew 88 car in front of the arena tomorrow and dropping the puck. Go Jr. I am not a race fan but if I was, I think I would have to be a Jr fan.

And lastly, the blog title is from my favorite Chicago-based band Alkaline Trio. I had to pick lyrics with Chicago in them so I used San Francisco. Great band, go check them out.
