A Little Collaboration with Texas Combat Sports

If you have been a regular reader of this blog since our days on the Squarespace platform, you know doubt know my frustration with the lack of “mainstream” sports coverage for our local fighters.  I will spare you all a rehash of my diatribe from last year, but I have to say that I am emboldened by the number of blogs and websites that have begun to spring up here in the North Texas area to fill the void left by the dailies and news stations preference on the “stick and ball” sports.  Though, it should be noted that the Fort Worth Star-Telegram seems to buck this trend and provides some pretty decent local coverage for fights and fighters in Fort Worth.  Still, with bulk of the heavy lifting in chronicling and highlighting our area’s fine talent of fighters lie on us web-based institutions.

All of which is why I am proud to announce that North Texas Fisticuffs will be contributing a weekly boxing recap to our friends over at Texascombatsports.com (TCS).  TCS is a new multimedia site that highlights the MMA scene here in Texas.  Headed by the extremely talented and knowledgeable Dominic Velando, TCS will soon be a must-visit destination for fight fans looking to interact with each other.

Like the saying goes, “a rising tide lifts all boats,” we here at North Texas Fisticuffs welcome the influx of new sites and blogs covering our fair burg as collaboration will only help serve the rapidly expanding fight scene here in the DFW.  We look forward to strengthening our reach and relevancy on a global scale and through collaboration, the DFW fight scene will be one of the best covered regions in the world.
