A nice summary by Phil Richards
“A lot of the guys call me ‘Old Man,’ ” Powers said. “They call me an old rookie.”
Powers carries himself with the maturity of a five-year veteran and is one of several young players the Colts (2-0) will be counting on when they play at Arizona (1-1) on Sunday night.
Powers missed the Miami game with a groin injury but is expected to play against the Cardinals’ lethal offense, with cornerback Jacob Lacey in ready reserve. Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie are the Colts’ Nos. 2 and 3 receivers. Running back Donald Brown alternates with Joseph Addai but has been on the field at the end of both games, tense two- and four-point victories. Punter Pat McAfee hasn’t blinked.
Powers, Lacey, Collie, Brown and McAfee are rookies. Garcon caught only four passes as a rookie last season. The Colts don’t hesitate to thrust young players into crucial situations.
