A lot on the line

The Colts have a lot to play for today

Clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Standing between them and a trip to Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7 in Miami would be two playoff games at Lucas Oil Stadium, where they have matched a club record with 12 consecutive home victories.

Set an NFL record with a 22nd straight regular-season win, eclipsing the mark set by the 2006-08 New England Patriots.

Become the winningest team in any decade with their 114th victory since 2000. The San Francisco 49ers compiled 113 wins in the 1990s for the current NFL record.

Push their record to 13-0 for the second time in five seasons. In the NFL’s 86-year history, only five teams have opened a season with 13 wins.

One afternoon, one game.

Yet so much there for the taking.
