I want you to read this with an open mind, if you will. I ask this because I am fully aware of the fact that for many Penn State fans any change to the way the game day atmosphere can be seen as a negative, but this is clearly a new era that will open up new ideas for a program that needs to move forward.
This weekend the San Diego Chargers will hold their own version of the White Out, with fans being encouraged to wear white and with the team taking the field in an all-white uniform with their white pants, jerseys and white helmets. Naturally, I wondered what it would be like if Penn State attempted to try this out with their white out game, scheduled for later this season against Ohio State. We know the fans will be dressed in all white, but how would you feel if Penn State took the field in their traditional road uniforms for the game?
Admittedly, the idea is not wholly unique, as I have seen some other suggest the team do just this in the past. And such a move would have to be cleared ahead of time. But LSU wears white at home, so it is clearly not unprecedented.
It is just an idea, and this should be absolutely no indication that it is a possibility being considered. I’m just curious what the reaction is to the idea. So let me have it. Good idea? Terrible idea? Feel free to respond in the comments section.
