Tulsa got back to its offensive roots and winning ways in a 38-31 double-overtime win over Tulane on Thursday night, beating the Green Wave for its first American Athletic Conference victory in school history.
It wouldn’t have happened without a dominant performance from sophomore wide receiver Keevan Lucas, who finished the game with 13 receptions for 233 yards and three touchdowns.
Lucas was unstoppable for four quarters. He had scoring plays of 84 and 43 yards, but his most important came from 4th-and-3 with 2:53 remaining in regulation to tie the score and put the game into overtime.
As a freshman, the 5-foot-10, 200-pound Texas native totaled 32 catches, 442 yards and one touchdown—he nearly achieved half those numbers in Week 1.
