Aaron Lynch has seemingly ended his long and rocky recruitment by committing to the Irish while on a visit to South Bend this weekend. Aaron’s mom confirmed what we had all hoped would happen this weekend, with a call to Irish Illustrated.
I will have much more in a detailed diagram of doom in the upcoming Subway Domer Recruiting Spectacular, but until then, here are 3 things I know:
- Aaron Lynch is an absolute beast. He was the best player at the Army All-American game, and should earn his 5th star.
- Because of the way that Aaron’s recruitment went down, this may be as big- if not bigger, than the commitment of Manti Te’o, and it could have just as much immediate impact. (Especially since he will enroll early).
- Bob Diaco is drinking coffee, because that’s what closers do.
With this commitment, Notre Dame is probably done on the defensive side of the ball, with a few names still floating around that have ND in the picture. Those names will sign elsewhere in my opinion, but fear not. This class has one of the best defensive hauls that the Irish have signed in a very, very long time.
Oh yeah…
