Celtics Mavericks Basketball

The Celtics almost completed an incredible comeback last night in Dallas. Despite trailing by 31 points at one juncture, Boston battled all the way back to get within one possession of the Mavs. But alas, it was not to be and the C’s fell 118-113 to the Mavericks.

Avery Bradley notched a career-high 32 points, 23 of them coming in the second half. The C’s rode his back for much of their late rally, and AB shot 69% from the field (9 of 13) and 75% from trey (3 of 4) in the final two quarters.

Jeff Green also had a big night, finishing with a solid line of 35 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal & 2 blocks.

Our starting point guard had an off night scoring wise, going 3 of 13 for 7 points, but contributed nevertheless. Rajon dished out 15 dimes and grabbed 9 rebounds.

And some of the most exciting plays of the night came from rookie Marcus Smart-especially in the all important last quarter. Smart scored 5 of his 7 points in the final frame, and was all over the floor. He hounded Dirk Nowitzki at times, making the usually mild mannered superstar visibly frustrated. Smart tallied 4 rebounds, 3 assists & 1 block during his 8 minutes & change out on the floor in the 4th. Man do I love watching this kid play.
