Abe Asher’s College Football Picks – Week Ten

We’ve hit week ten of the college football season, which means that the College Football Playoff Committee has released their first poll of the season, which has three teams from the SEC West in the top four.

And here we were thinking there would be “SEC bias,” or something. That was silly.

Last week I went 11-2 with my picks, bringing my season total to 82-31. Here are the week ten picks.

Air Force 41, Army 21 – It’s one of those days: Do not wake up until 3:30 EST or you’ll hate college football forever.

TCU 343,232, West Virginia 35 – College Gameday doesn’t have an SEC bias – they’re going to Morgantown to see if TCU can score more points in one game than the Philadelphia 76ers will score all season.

Georgia 37, Florida 10 – Here’s a fun idea: Brady Hoke coaches Florida for one week and Will Muschamp coaches Michigan. Who says no?

Missouri 24, Kentucky 20 – I’ll come right out and say it: Kentucky will win this game. But I’m too afraid to pick them because this is still Kentucky and this still isn’t basketball.

Ole Miss 34, Auburn 31 – It’s just that kind of year, fellas.

Mississippi State 41, Arkansas 27 – Who Dak? We Dak.

Oregon 35, Stanford 17 – An ESPN analyst said this week that this will be, “the most emotional game of Marcus Mariota’s life.” He gets paid on commission.

South Carolina 43, Tennessee 13 – Some would say that the Vols aren’t in the easiest conference to make a great resurgence in.

Texas 34, Texas Tech 28 – When the worst offense and the worst defense in the country get together, you get must-watch television.

Kansas State 40, Oklahoma State 20 – K-State is a legit playoff contender, and I’m convinced that this season has become about Bill Snyder sticking it to the Big XXI for telling him to change his old wardrobe.

Notre Dame 41, Navy 17 – Notre Dame got absolutely shafted by the playoff committee. That’s the biggest story for me from the first poll.

Arizona 45, UCLA 38 – Welcome to the Pac-12 South, where no one is very good and everyone is pretty good, if you know what I mean.

California 38, Oregon State 27 – This year is getting real ugly real fast for the Beavers.

Arizona State 31, Utah 21 – With Notre Dame next for Arizona State and Oregon next for Utah, this is a double trap game. Just thought I’d point that out.
