It’s like they always say: Better early than never for the week nine college football picks. I went 9-3 last week, bringing my season record to 64-34. Here are the picks.

Pittsburgh 23, North Carolina 20 – I’ve been doing this picks column for a long time, and I think this is the first time I’ve picked a Pitt game because Pitt is playing. Needless to say, Pat Narduzzi can coach.

TCU 55, West Virginia 28 – One of the best things about this unfolding season is how the Big XII is going to end up with three one-loss teams ranked fifth, sixth, and seventh and miss the playoff again.

Oregon 37, Arizona State 34 – Maybe if Vernon Adams doesn’t get hurt this Ducks season is in a drastically different place?

Ole Miss 34, Auburn 24 – You’ve got to say this about Ole Miss: They pick their spots. That strategy might not be conducive to major success, but it’s plenty admirable.

USC 47, California 13 – Southern Cal does so well with interim coaches, they just might as well not hire a permanent head coach this time.

Clemson 45, NC State 17 – This is the year, Dabo. I believe.

Florida 31, Georgia 20 – Nobody makes 10-3 look as bad as Mark Richt.

Iowa 45, Maryland 23 – Mary mother of Jesus, Iowa is in the top ten.

Utah 34, Oregon State 13 – I’m sure there are plenty of things that Mike Riley would like to change about the way this season has played out, but staying at Oregon State almost certainly isn’t one of them.

Michigan 37, Minnesota 10 – Michigan will be absolutely fine.

Notre Dame 41, Temple 28 – So that poor guy flies the Cougar flag every Saturday on College Gameday for fifteen years and when the show finally has cause to go to Pullman, they instead go to Temple!? Jesus Christ.

Stanford 45, Washington State 31 – I mean it’s not like Wazzu isn’t going to get flattened, but that shouldn’t matter.
