Adrian Peterson: The Return

The return that many Minnesota Vikings fans have been waiting for will he happening this Sunday when the Vikings face the Indianapolis Colts, the return of Adrian Peterson.

Peterson practiced for the first time this week since he tore his meniscus in week two against the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings and Peterson had originally targeted his return for week 16 against the Packers but after talking with coach Mike Zimmer and training staff about his return being moved up, everyone agreed he was good to go. Minnesota will have to make roster moves by Saturday afternoon so Adrian can be listed as active.

Peterson broke the news himself while he was talking with DJ Skee, who does pregame entertainment for Vikings home games, on Friday afternoon, “I’m gonna go ahead and go this week,” Peterson said. “I’m getting back out there and looking forward to joining my team as we continue on this journey to make the playoffs.”

Minnesota is two games behind NFC North leaders Detroit Lions and one spot behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a second wild card spot. Last week Peterson said that he would not return this season if the Vikings were not in the playoff race but has had a change of heart. But the Colts and Vikings need this win to keep their playoff hopes alive, many fans hope that his presence may be the fire that this team needs to push them into the playoffs.

Peterson’s super freak returns have always been something special for the Vikings, let’s hope that this will continue into Sunday.
