Who doesn’t enjoy watching reruns of their favorite television shows, or better yet favorite sports teams? Well if your one of those people be sure to tune into today’s game at 4:35 pm ET sharp to watch two of the most competitive teams in the NFL go head to head for a spot towards the AFC championship game. The New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens will meet for the fourth time in the last six years in the playoffs.
These two teams have exchanged a few choice words between each other over the years; however that doesn’t stop them both from giving credit where it’s due. New England’s own two-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady had a few words of his own for Baltimore’s six-time Pro Bowler Terrell Suggs.
“He’s phenomenal. He’s in his 12th year and looks like it’s his third year out there. He’s the leader of that defense. He makes great plays,” says Brady. “He’s just a smart player. We’ve played against him a bunch of times. He takes away a lot of stuff. I have a lot of respect for his ability to play the game at a high level.”
It’s been Suggs vs. Brady and the Pats show for the past five times during the regular season. During those times, Suggs recorded 13 tackles and three sacks; however, the Ravens lost each of those games. In the playoffs, Suggs and the Ravens have beaten the Patriots two out of three games, with Suggs recording an additional sack and six tackles.
In response to Brady’s gracious comments towards Suggs, the 6-foot-3, 260 lb linebacker was left in awe.
“Say what?” When another reporter told Suggs that Brady called him “phenomenal”, Suggs asked, “Did they record him? I’d love to see his face when he said it.”
Only three teams in the NFL ranked in the top 10 of points scored and fewest points allowed during the 2014 regular season. Two out of those three were the Ravens who ranked eighth in points scored and sixth in fewest points allowed, while the Patriots were ranked fourth and eighth respectively.
Although, each meeting between the two teams has been very entertaining for the viewers, this one should be one to add to the books as they meet up for the eighth time since 2009.
