It was an exciting week in the AFC North. In the only divisional battle of the week, the Ravens won 26-6 on Thursday night football without star running back Ray Rice. He was released from the team following a second video showing him assaulting his then fiancée.
The Browns and Bengals came away with huge wins against the NFC South juggernauts New Orleans and Atlanta.
Baltimore Ravens 26- Pittsburgh Steelers 6– Steve Smith had his way all night with 9insert stats). Joe Flacco threw for (insert stats). Baltimore needed this win to put the Rice situation behind them and move forward.
Cincinnati Bengals 24- Atlanta 10– The Bengals continue to prove they are the top dog in the AFC North. Cincinnati won against Baltimore to start the season and today they took down the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons defeated New Orleans last week.
Cleveland Browns 26- New Orleans 24– The Browns haven’t won a home opener since the 2003 season against the Baltimore Ravens when Jeff Garcia played his only season in Cleveland. Hoyer threw for 204 yards and one touchdown. Hoyer did not throw for an interception. He hasn’t thrown an interception this season.
Miles Austin made several key plays on the last scoring drive to give the Brows a chance to sustain the drive and set Billy Cundiff up in great position to kick to game winning field goal.
How Ironic
There is irony for the Browns. They are the victim of the game winning field goal and the victor by way of the field goal. Shaun Suisham kicked the game winning field goal last week as the Steelers defeated the Browns.
