Stories started circulating early Sunday that Starlin Castro was involved in a nightclub shooting late Saturday night in his native Dominican Republic.
Tuesday, the agent for the Chicago Cubs shortstop announced the three-time All-Star had been cleared of all wrongdoing.
“Starlin and his family were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Paul Kinzer told CBSChicago.com. “They were at a concert when someone in a black SUV started shooting at a car next to them. Starlin and his family are fine. They are clear of any involvement in this altercation by Dominican officials.”
All that aside, I’ve got to know…was he “in the wrong place at the wrong time” or does Castro, according to his Instagram, have no knowledge of the shooting? According to LaBerny.net, a news site out of the Dominican Republic, Castro and his group heard the gunshots and sought cover inside the nightclub. Or…were they taking cover behind a car?!?
Sure, this is all different from the initial reports that say the shortstop was the gunman, but, still, something isn’t adding up.
But, hey, if Castro’s agent is saying he’s been cleared…he’s been cleared, right?
