We’re under 70 days folks…Yes indeed, the Badgers 2014 football season is inching ever so close.
Today we look at No. 69 on your programs, Aidan McNamara. He should be a familiar name to those in the Madison area, as McNamara went to Madison West high school. So, let’s get in to a look at McNamara, shall we?
McNamara’s Story so far:
– Redshirted last season after being a preferred walk-on for the Badgers
– At 6’4″, 290 pounds, McNamara could be a good addition at guard in the future.
– Was named first-team All-Big Eight as a senior and All-City Outstanding Lineman that same year.
What to Expect in 2014:
McNamara walked on to the Badger football program from Madison West, but don’t expect to see a lot out of him this year. While he redshirted last year, McNamara appears to be down on the depth chart and Wisconsin continues to bring in top-rated offensive lineman in each class. He has his work cut out for him to see the field this upcoming season. It doesn’t mean we won’t ever see him on the field, as walk-ons aren’t unaccustomed to playing along the offensive line. What it means is that he will have to work harder than most, and considering all the returning starters that are back McNamara’s task won’t be an easy one.
