Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin decided that he would buck the trend normally seen in NHL All-Star games by playing a little defense. The only problem? Matt Duchene (of the victorious Team Lidstrom) was on a breakaway, so Ovie resorted to throwing his stick at the puck.
Apparently throwing your stick is the only no-no in an All-Star game. The ensuing penalty shot was the only infraction in the entire game.
