Sixers-Denver Game Broadcast Scores a 4.9 Rating, Plus Strong Pre and Postgame Ratings

PHILADELPHIA (December 8, 2009) Last night’s Sixers game, which marked the return of Allen Iverson to the team, delivered a 4.9 rating (146,000 households), and peaked at a 5.8 rating (172,300 HHs) at 7:45 p.m. The game represents a 300% increase over the Sixers regular season average rating of 1.2 (36,000 HHs).

Comcast SportsNet’s pre and postgame coverage of the Sixers-Denver game also delivered impressive numbers. Sixers Pregame Live scored a 1.3 rating (39,000 HHs), marking a 225% increase over the regular season average. Sixers Postgame Live delivered a 2.1 rating (62,400 HHs), a 250% increase over the 2009-10 season average.

Last night marked the highest rated Sixers game since April 27, 2008 when the Sixers took on the Detroit Pistons in Game Four of the first round of the NBA Playoffs. That game delivered a 5.4 rating (160,000 HHs). Last night’s game was also the highest rated regular season game since the Sixers played the Milwaukee Bucks on March 1, 2005 when the broadcast delivered a 5.4 rating (160,000 HHs).

The Sixers return to Comcast SportsNet on Wednesday, December 9 when they take on the Detroit Pistons at 7 p.m. Sixers Pregame Live will air at 6:30 p.m. and Sixers Postgame Live will immediately follow the game.
