Taken from Rotoworld.com,
“Derek Jeter didn’t put a ball in play in four trips to the plate, yet somehow left the contest with his career-best 21-game hitting streak intact. With three walks and one hit by pitch, he did not actually record an official at-bat, so according to the rules, the hit-streak is still alive. Talk about a case of ‘you know things are going you’re way when…'”
That has to be one of the strangest occurrences during a hit streak. If my memory serves me correctly and no i am not that old, didn’t Pete Rose have the same thing happen to him during one of his hit streaks.
Sorry to my fellow Red Sox fans and readers for posting something about the Yankees. As a true baseball fan, this was something I had to point out.
