Hey guys, it’s me Brennan,
I know a lot of you are worried about putting too much stock in my early season numbers because, heck, I could always fall on my face and flame out. I know this. But what I also know is, the Detroit Tigers have been looking for a left handed power bat since the 2006 trading deadline to break up the glut of right handed hitters in the lineup. And now that I’m here, gosh darnit, I’m not feeling the love at all you guys.
I’ve only propelled myself up to be the league leader among rookies in batting average, home runs, RBI and slugging percentage since getting the call in May. What more do you guys want from me? Sure, I may not be patient at the plate but neither was Jeromy Burnitz, Darryl Strawberry, Ryan Klesko or Jay Buhner. All of those guys are who I’m projected to be even if I were to maintain just a .250 career batting average if my HR pace and RBI pace were to be maintained. We all know I can f*cking mash right? I mashed 28 dongs last season in Double A Erie, remember?
I mean, those aren’t bad guys right guys? All 4 players were butchers in the outfield with the glove but they provided some pop with their bats and were middle of the order type hitters for their entire careers. That’s what I am guys, remember? I’m 6’6 230lbs of lean mean west coast power. I am long, strong, and I can stroke it with the best of this year’s rookie class. Sure I’ll strike out, so f*cking what? Remember Adam Dunn? He strikes out AND he’s a butcher in the outfield with the glove.
I don’t understand all the hate you guys. I guess I could take my 162 game average of 36 homeruns and 126 runs batted in somewhere else, but I want to be here in the D with you guys. I don’t need a bandwagon guys, I just want to feel the love among you bloggers and commenters. So far, I’m not feeling any love, and it hurts.
I guess I’ve got a few more weeks to prove my ability to you guys before the talk of acquiring a bat at the trade deadline starts to happen. I’m going to show you that I’ve got the LF/RF/DH position on lockdown, alright?
Thanks for your time guys,
BB26
