WARRIORS PRACTICE FACILITY, OAKLAND, CA — David Lee and Marreese Speights of the Golden State Warriors both posted similar pictures from a “surprise” birthday dinner for Andre Iguodala, who turned 30 yesterday.

Speights, who called Iguodala “big bro” on his Instagram post, spent three seasons with Iguodala on the Philadelphia 76ers from 2008 to 2011. The get-together last night was at Iguodala’s residence.

“I wouldn’t call it a suprise, I kinda knew about it,” Iguodala said, “The young guys don’t do a good job of keeping their mouths shut — it always gets back to you — but I knew the guys would come over.”

Little Andre, Iguodala’s six-year-old son, got a chance to compete against Stephen Curry.

“We had a video game battle going on downstairs and my son was talking about Steph all night,” Iguodala said, “They got a chance to play H-O-R-S-E in his room, so that was the highlight.”

Here are the pictures Speights and Lee posted:

A ten-year veteran of the NBA, Iguodala spoke about the various bonds he’s made during his tenure.

“You always have a bond with certain guys, but you always have a bond in general with the whole team. You gotta go out there and battle with those guys night in and night out,” Iguodala said, “Then with the families, the wives, and the girlfriends, those always last a little bit longer than your playing career so you never want to take that for granted, especially my son.

“He’s a big fan of Steph, so things like that kind of put everything in perspective.”
