Last night, it was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports that the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers made a trade revolving around forward Andrei Kirilenko. In the trade, the Sixers acquired Kirilenko, a 2020 second round pick, swapped 2018 second round picks and cash. The Sixers also received guard Jorge Gutierrez.
In return, Brooklyn received forward Brandon Davies, who this season is averaging 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Today, the trade was made official via Sixers press release:
The Philadelphia 76ers today announced they have completed a trade with the Brooklyn Nets in which the Sixers acquire veteran forward Andrei Kirilenko, the Nets second round pick in 2020, guard Jorge Gutierrez and cash considerations in exchange for forward Brandon Davies. Additionally, the Sixers also receive the right to swap Cleveland’s second round pick in 2018 (which Philadelphia acquired during the offseason) with Brooklyn’s own second round pick that year.
Also as the release stated, the Sixers waived guard Malcolm Lee. This is not the first time the Nets and Sixers have done a trade. Before the season started, the Nets traded guard Marquis Teague and a 2019 second round pick to the Sixers while Philly gave them guard Casper Ware. Both of those players were waived by their respective teams.
Many people are criticizing the Sixers for making these pointless trades but who knows if it works out for them. If it does, then Sam Hinkie looks like a genius but if not then Philadelphia could be a bad franchise for years to come.
