Andrew Bogut has missed 11 straight games for the Golden State Warriors after going out with a knee injury in the first quarter in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The injury he sustained, chondromalacia and bone edema (also known as runner’s knee) is not a very serious, but has kept him out for about a third of the season thus far.

Head coach Steve Kerr talked about Bogut’s status on KNBR radio last week.

“Well he’s doing better, he’s been on the treadmill the last couple of days, and out on the court shooting a little bit, he hasn’t scrimmaged yet or gone through any drills,” Kerr told Kevin Lynch on the air, “So he won’t be back any time in the next few days in terms of actually playing in a game but he’s doing really well. Definitely on the mend.”

Bogut’s absence has been huge for the Warriors, but they have still managed to go 8-3 without him. On the radio, Kerr also spoke about how not having their big man effects their offense.

“We really don’t change much, whether Andrew’s in practice or not, I mean we run the same stuff,” Kerr said, “ We try to focus on our fundamentals every day in practice and our execution of the stuff that we run and then when the game comes we may focus on one thing over another, depending on personnel.”

Really, right now, it’s just about rhythm, and timing and fundamentals. That’s regardless of who’s healthy and who’s not.”

So far, no exact date has been set for Bogut’s return, but based on Kerr’s comments, it could be a week or more before the big Aussie returns to the floor.

This season, Bogut is averaging 7.1 points, 3.0 assists, 9.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks.

The Warriors next matchup is against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are currently 2 games out of the 8th seed in the Western Conference. The game tips off on tonight at 7:30 at Oracle Arena, and Bogut is likely to miss his 12th straight game.
