It has been announced that Andrew Bynum will miss the entire preseason, and that he is “nowhere near being ready”.
According to sources, CLE Cavaliers C Andrew Bynum is nowhere near ready and is likely to miss the entire preseason

There is no way that Cavaliers fans can hear this and not be worried. Last year it was said that Bynum would miss the entire preseason and would be ready for opening night against the Denver Nuggets. How did that work out? Not very well, he went on to miss the entire season with the 76ers, and the move to trade for Bynum will go down as one of the worst move the 76ers have ever made.
Bynum averaged 18.7 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game with the Lakers in the 2011-12 season with the Lakers, but he has not played a lick of basketball since then. He still did very well that season, so many people are expecting a pretty good season from Bynum this year.
Bynum is supposed to be ready for the first game of the 2013-14 season, but you never know with Andrew Bynum. If he is ready for the season, then I see the Cavs going to the playoffs. They have Kyrie Irving, Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters Anthony Bennett, and now Andrew Bynum. That sounds like a really dangerous team, but my main concern for them is health. Andrew Bynum and Kyrie Irving have had their share of injuries in the past, and those are two guys who can really be effective, and it will be very important for them to stay healthy for the Cavaliers.
Without Andrew Bynum, I think the Cavs are still a pretty talented team. They would still have Kyrie Irving, and Anderson Varejao, two guys who had very good seasons in 2012, but unfortunately both were shortened by injuries. If those two guys can stay healthy, then I still think they will be a playoff team this season, but if Bynum healthy as well, there is no doubt in my mind that they will go to the playoffs.
Andrew Bynum isn’t healthy at the moment, and Cavs fans should be worried. He is expected to be ready for the 2013-14 season though, and if he is then this Cavs team has a legitimate chance to go deep into the playoffs.
