Pittsburgh Pirates fan Bryce Robison had one wish for his sixth birthday…have Andrew McCutchen show up to his party.
But, since the Pirates had a day game against the Chicago Cubs and the drive from Wrigley Field to Edison’s Entertainment Complex (where the party was held) is nearly five hours, the 2013 National League MVP was, understandably, absent.
Oh…and he’s Andrew FREAKIN’ McCutchen.
But that didn’t stop the Bucs outfielder from being awesome. The picture of the invitation was apparently posted on Facebook by the tyke’s mother Jenny and, you guessed it…the four-time All-Star saw it.
And responded.
While I’m sure the excitement of laser tag and bowling was enticing for McCutchen, he had an equally exciting day at the plate for Pittsburgh, going three-for-five with a home run in a 10-4 victory.
