Just when you thought the Angels were done acquiring infield depth, they went out and picked up another youngster to challenge for playing time in the now vacant second base position.
Halos have also acquired INF Taylor Featherston from Cubs (played with Rockies in 2014) in a Rule 5 deal. #Angels #WinterMeetings

Taylor Featherston is 25 and only just finished his first season at Double-A and was selected to participate in the Arizona Fall league. He profiles as a better defender than Green and Rutledge and has shown potential on offense to be able to hit 15+ homers and steal 15+ bases. His lack of experience puts him behind in the competition, but the fact that the Angels need to keep him on the 40-man roster all year or risk losing him could give him a leg up to at least secure a bench job.
Having only had one morning to learn about Featherston, he looks to be a top 20, maybe top 15 prospect in the Angels system. We will incorporate him into the MWAH Top Prospect Countdown once we get a chance to dig deeper.
The Organizational Depth Chart has also been updated accordingly.
