Angels Implode, lose to the Rangers 14-11

What more can be said about a game like this than, "Who's ready for 2014?" On a night in which third baseman Alberto Callaspo was traded to the Oakland A's mid-game, the Angels showed just why they are closer to last than first place in the West.

The undermanned, injury-laden Texas Rangers still figured out a way to torch C.J. Wilson, and lay waste to a bullpen to appears to finally be out of gas.

The offense did their best to pull the team out of darkness, racking up 11 runs on 16 hits, including taking an 11-7 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning. What happened next was a solid nightmare, as Dane De La Rosa coughed up a three-run shot to Geovanny Soto, while Ernesto Frieri would proceed to blow his second consecutive save in as many nights in the ninth.

Ugh.

Game Notes

— Howie Kendrick got his 1000th career hit, all as an Angel. Cool moment, in what may very well may have been his final game under the Halo.

— Mike Trout continues to be the only reason to watch this team on a regular basis anymore these days. He reached base all six times he came up to the plate, and has reached base 10 straight times. If Arte doesn't lock him up to a monster 15-year deal in the offseason, he's doing it all wrong.

Halos A-Hole of the Game

Gah. This whole team is just disappointing.
