The June 18th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Albert Pujols’ All-Star candidacy, VP of marketing and ticket sales resigns amid controversy and much more…

The Story: Albert Pujols isn’t worrying about whether or not he makes the All-Star team.
The Monkey Says: Well, he isn’t a Royal, so I don’t see how him making the team is even possible.

The Story: Mike Scioscia believes Albert Pujols should make the All-Star team.
The Monkey Says: Oh, right, it is that time of year where managers and executives start stumping for their guys. Look, Albert has been great for the last while, but I’d much rather he get all the time off to rest is old bones.

The Story: Robert Alvarado, VP of marketing and ticket sales, has resigned from the Angels organization.
The Monkey Says: He allegedly made this as a personal decision, but this is surely fallout from his previous comments where he basically said the Angels don’t care about selling tickets to poor people.

The Story: Should the Angels be better than this?
The Monkey Says: Yes and no. On paper entering the season, they looked much better but the offense has been horrid. The pitching, however, has overachieved so that the team is merely average when they should be legitimately bad. They need to bring in some outside help for the offense before the pitching returns to earth. Even then, that might only help them maintain their averageness.

The Story: Kyle Kubitza has made a good first impression.
The Monkey Says: The Gold Glove talk is a bit over the top, but he looks like he can maybe be above average. His bat clearly has some promise and the Angels have to be feeling pretty good about handing him the hot corner in 2016. He should get to stick around in the major as well, at least until some outside help is acquired. Even then, if they can find him at bats at DH, he may be up for good.

The Story: A young visually-impaired boy from Millville will have surgery to allow him to see, and his first wish is to see Mike Trout play.
The Monkey Says: He’s going to get his wish. It’s all downhill from here, kid.
