The Angels probably don’t want to risk their depth by cutting Iannetta loose entirely and rolling with two rookie backstops. Heaney probably still needs an injury to pop up to get his promotion. Either that or Matt Shoemaker is going to have to get shelled a few more times over the rest of the month.
