The June 26th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Angels send Krauss to Rays, Pujols proves he’s worth the money and much more…

The Story: The Angels traded 1B/OF Marc Krauss to the Rays for RHP Kyle Winker.
The Monkey Says: The Angels clearly decided that they’d seen enough of Krauss. Also, I believe they are legally required to make a trade with the Rays involving a reliever once every three months.

The Story: Albert Pujols has been worth his contract so far, but how long will that last?
The Monkey Says: He has been worth his contract so far thanks to his recent surge, but his contract is heavily backloaded and Albert isn’t going to be getting better with age. The Angels knew that would happen, but I think they had hoped he would outperform the early part of his contract by a larger margin.

The Story: Why each team doesn’t deserve to trade for Cole Hamels.
The Monkey Says: Please, like Hamels wouldn’t jump at the chance to do a shampoo commercial the second he landed in Los Angeles/Anaheim.

The Story: Sean Newcomb was named to the Futures Game roster for the US.
The Monkey Says: For once the Angels get a guy on the roster who deserves to be there and isn’t just being named to fulfill the requirement that each team get a representative.

The Story: Five sensible trades including the Angels acquiring Ryan Howard.
The Monkey Says: There is nothing sensible about acquiring Ryan Howard on purpose. Even if the Phillies pay his entire contract, the last thing the Angels need is another lefty platoon bat with a sub-.300 OBP. Shame on you, Anthony Castrovince. Shame. Shame. Shame.

The Story: Chris Iannetta is cool with where he is after a miserable April.
The Monkey Says: He’s improved to a .241/.337/.379 slash line ever since. I’m not cool with that, but it is tolerable, especially with his improved framing this year.

The Story: The best rookies of the last 20 years.
The Monkey Says: Trout and Pujols together makes everyone happy.

The Story: Jerry Dipoto preaches patience with the the Angels bats.
The Monkey Says: It’s nearly July and we are 73 games into the season. How much more f@#%ing patient do we need to be?
