The February 6th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Angels still need Josh Hamilton, grading the Angels offseason and much more…
The Story: The Angels still need Josh Hamilton’s productivity.
The Monkey Says: I covered this the other day. What I love though is how everyone is acting as if this injury is season-ending for Josh. In reality, he will likely be healthy enough for Opening Day, but could miss time just because he won’t have had a Spring Training and will need extra time to get properly tuned up for the season. Seriously, he may not miss 10 games but people are acting as if he has terminal cancer or something.
The Story: The Angels get a “B” for their offseason.
The Monkey Says: “B” for “boring,” amirite? They shored up their depth and rotation (contrary to what some might think) but took a hit at second and the bullpen. They should be about the same talent-wise and that’s all you can really ask for a 98-win team.
The Story: The Angels are hosting a “Moving Day” on February 12th.
The Monkey Says: A $150+ million payroll and they are asking the fans to help them move? What a bunch of mooches. Wait… move where? I assume it was just the annual “move” to Tempe for Spring Training, but maybe this is a really underhanded way of announcing they are moving to Tustin! Those cheap, sneaky bastards.
The Story: The top 10 shortstops in baseball.
The Monkey Says: Aybar comes in at seventh which seems just right and also too low at the same time to me.
