The August 12th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including C.J. Wilson visits doctor, Angels monitoring Heaney’s workload and much more…

The Story: C.J. Wilson saw a doctor yesterday but no decision on his future is expected until today.
The Monkey Says: They need to “confer” which seems like a thing that could get contentious given that they already seem to be at odds over his course of treatment. The expectation is still that he will end up having season-ending surgery, but there is an outside chance that they might have him try and pitch through the pain, possibly in the bullpen.

The Story: The Halos are monitoring the workloads of Andrew Heaney and Hector Santiago.
The Monkey Says: They seem more concerned with Heaney as well they should as his arm is younger and he is under team control for several years longer. It doesn’t sound like they will go full-Strasburg with him, but they might use off days to skip some rotation turns for him. That, ironically, will result in more innings for Santiago, but there is only so many workloads a team can restrict at once.

The Story: The Angels are in a dogfight for the AL West.
The Monkey Says: Rah! Rah! Scioscia cliche. Rah! Rah! Scioscia cliche. End of story.

The Story: C.J. Nitkowski and Jon Morosi make their playoff predictions.
The Monkey Says: Which mean nothing, but there is no other news today, so you get this. You’ll take it and you will like it.

The Story: Ranking the best pitching tools in MLB.
The Monkey Says: Matt Shoemaker gets an honorable mention for his splitter. If Law was taking this exercise seriously, he surely would’ve given him the best beard tool as well.
