The April 21st, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Hamilton’s wife reacts to divorce filing, Richards encouraged by debut and much more…

The Story: Josh Hamilton’s soon-to-be-ex-wife Katie claims she was blindsided by the divorce filing.
The Monkey Says: She adamantly denies the rumors that she had cheated on him which seemingly only started by people trying to read between the lines of the divorce filing. I hate that I even had to write about this.

The Story: Garrett Richards is encouraged by his season debut.
The Monkey Says: His stuff looked good and even Garrett admits he was a little too amped up to start the game, so maybe that is reason to believe he’ll be all the way back to his old self in his next start.

The Story: Greg Mahle offers an intriguing mix of pitches and arm angles.
The Monkey Says: That’s why he is on MWAH’s list of fascinating fringe prospects for 2015! Paywall.

The Story: A brief update on Sean Newcomb’s start to the 2015 season.
The Monkey Says: The interesting idea being posited here is that Newcomb is being overrated quite simply because the rest of the Angels farm system is so bad. I kind of doubt talent evaluators would be influenced by that, then again I feel like prospects in loaded systems get overrated simply because everyone else in the system is supposedly so good. One of us can’t have it both ways. Paywall again, sorry.
