The May 13th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Marc Krauss called up, Ryan Mattheus DFA’d, Tommy Lasorda insults the Angels and much more…

The Story: The Angels called up Marc Krauss and designated Ryan Mattheus for assignment.
The Monkey Says: Krauss is going to get his shot at cracking the DH platoon. He was off to a very slow start in Triple-A before catching fire two weeks ago. He probably isn’t the answer, but it doesn’t hurt to give it a look. Mattheus only lasted one game and will now be exposed to waivers or possibly elect free agency. That is what the Angels get for calling him up for just one game instead of calling up someone else who had options left. He wouldn’t be a great loss, but depth is depth.

The Story: Tommy Lasorda throws shade at the Angels.
The Monkey Says: I’m pretty sure he’s used this line before, but anytime a Hall of Famer insults the Angels for no apparent reason, I figure people want to know,.

The Story: Five takeaways from the first five weeks of the Angels season.
The Monkey Says: The most important takeaway from this post is that Alden appears to have slipped a penis joke into it.

The Story: The five teams that could’ve used Barry Bonds back in 2008.
The Monkey Says: I vaguely recall there being legit speculation that the Angels might sign him and more clearly recall most people being vehemently against that.
