The April 14th, 2015 edition of Los Angeles Angels news including Scioscia wants to meet with Hamilton, Trout an amateur meteorologist and much more…

The Story: Mike Scioscia is hoping to meet with Josh Hamilton while the Angels are in Texas.
The Monkey Says: Josh is currently in Houston, so the Angels will be in his general area all week, but there are supposedly no plans for him to show his face. It even sounds like Scioscia is getting frustrated with this whole saga.

The Story: It appears that Mike Trout is a secretly a weather fanatic.
The Monkey Says: His sixth tool is predicting the movements of warm fronts. How great would it be if twenty years from now when Trout retires he takes over as the local weatherman in Millville? The Millville Meteorologist!

The Story: C.J. Wilson claims the Angels had him followed by a private investigator shortly after he signed his big contract.
The Monkey Says: The team denies it, of course. I actually don’t have a problem with this. If the team had reason to believe Wilson was engaging in dangerous and prohibitive activities, they are right to want to know so they can protect their investment. I seriously doubt they did it so they could void the new contract, but rather to catch him red-handed so that they could tell him to stop before it became a problem.

The Story: Tyler Skaggs has decided to not try to pitch in minor league games this season.
The Monkey Says: He wants to play it safe, which I am sure the Angels have no problem with. However, that could make it harder for Skaggs to be on the Opening Day roster in 2016.

The Story: A look at the potential arguments the Angels could make to void Josh Hamilton’s contract.
The Monkey Says: There is a lot of speculation here, but it provides good insight into MLB contracts, the CBA and JDA and how a team might try to void a contract, even if nobody has ever really succeeded before.

The Story: Where will Albert Pujols finish on the all-time home run list.
The Monkey Says: As long as it is a place on the home run list that doesn’t trigger too many milestone bonuses, I’m good with it.

The Story: Jonah Keri looks at the Angels as part of his weekly power rankings.
The Monkey Says: And only spent half his time talking about Hamilton.
